Fees

At Cheltenham Wing Chun Kuen (CWCK) we teach by invitation only.

CWCK does not run specific beginners classes and all new students join the main class on their first session as all students train together in a family like atmosphere much as Martial Arts are taught in China. We have students at different levels within our syllabus and each is taught according their own personal needs determined through consultation with the student and Sifu in charge.

New students are entitled to a FREE first lesson so it makes sense to make the most of it. It is up to the individual whether they sit and watch or join in for the first session. If you intend to train, please wear something appropriate such as a T-shirt, training trousers and training shoes. Once you become a full member you will be issued a club training T-shirt which forms part of our training 'uniform'. The first session that a student attends should be used to decide if he/she thinks that Wing Chun fits in with thier personal circumstances and whether or not they want to return for subsequent sessions.

Do not be afraid to ask questions!

If you do decide to return you can come to any of our regular sessions at a cost of £7.00 per session (2 hours). During your introductory period you will be an associated member of Cheltenham Wing Chun Kuen, but not a full member.

The introductory period will last a minimum of 16 sessions (this includes the free session) which should give you, the prospective student, the ability to build a picture of what our classes, students and instructors are like. At the end of this period you should have all the information required in order to make a final decision on whether to accept our invitation, if one is given, to join our association.

While students attend the introductory sessions we make a preliminary assessment of prospective members' physical and mental ability. We use this information to determine whether we think they would be worthy students of Wing Chun, and fit in with our other members. On completion of the introductory period students will undergo a formal assessment of the skills that they have learned during that period, this is designed to help the instructors induct suitable students.

After completion of the required introductory period and first assessment, the instructors group will make a decision on whether individual students deserve to be invited you to join our association. Once an invite is extended you must either accept or decline the offer. If you decline you will not be able to continue your training with us. If you accept the invitation you are required to complete a club membership form and pay £45.00 (at time of writing) initial membership fee and first assessment fee. This covers membership and insurance for the first 12 months, your first assessment fee of £7.00 and includes a FREE club training T-shirt.

Membership and Insurance is renewable annually and subsequent years are charged at £28.00.
